Remember that viral Mercedes chicken ad? (2013) 🐔 It's my favorite ad ever! It's a masterclass in simplicity, style, and creativity. Here's why I like it so much—and what we marketers can learn from it:✔️ First screen — A chicken in white gloves? You bet that'll make you look twice. ✔️ Connecting a chicken's natural stability to high-tech car suspension? Genius. It's relatable and memorable. ✔️ Mercedes nailed the balance between their signature elegance with a touch of humor. It's sophisticated yet fresh.✔️ No tech jargon, just a clever visual metaphor. Easy to get, impossible to forget.Trying to make the audience stop scrolling? Man, it's a real challenge. You need to hit 'em with something that makes their thumbs freeze. Maybe it's a joke they didn't see coming, a jaw-dropping nature shot, or a comparison so weird it just works.Whatever you choose, make sure it shows off what makes your product awesome. Give 'em something they can't shake out of their head.__________________Keep up with Polina Karpinska 🇺🇦 for more content! Father's Day Ads That Resonate...👨🏻✈️🍸 Aviation Gin, led by the "Father of Comedy," Ryan Reynolds, launches a 'Vasectomy Kit.'Following previous marketing campaigns featuring "The Vasectomy" cocktail with Ryan Reynolds and Nick Cannon in 2021 and 2022, this year Aviation Gin has taken it a step further by releasing a kit for the ultimate Father’s Day present. Why do we 💕 it? It's clever, funny, shock-value marketing at its finest.🥤Pepsi uses relatability as the forefront of its Father's Day ad.It's incredibly difficult to find something we can all pretty much agree on, but Pepsi's done it.The Dad Joke. The brand's clever use of humor stamps it with an edge of relatability that's difficult to achieve on this scale.🍟 McDonald's chooses a subtle nod through clever graphics. Why do we 💕 love it?It's incredibly thoughtful, almost to the point of being sentimental. The simplicity of the message really makes you feel something. Sometimes less is more.Do you have a favorite Father's Day ad from this year?😉 As always, our top 2% marketing team is on hand, 24/5, to help you with your marketing needs: https://scaledon.com/#digitalmarketing #smartadvertising #fathersday #clevermarketing #marketingagency

I might be dating myself, but in "the good old days," when you found a car in an ad, you called, set up a meeting time, and were super nice to the seller. You would not think to show up late, or worse yet, not show up at all. Today, I am spammed with 200 automated inquiries before someone answers me back and offers me 50% off. Is the seller market overrun with used cars, or do window shoppers overrun the buyer market?Has anyone tried old-school advertising? I am bound to give it a shot. #UsedCars #Pamphlet #CarsForSale #PaperAdvertising

I feel like carefully rewatching all the Super Bowl ads is required for marketers. And this year there is one that marketing teams can learn from and emulate. In the entertaining arena of Super Bowl commercials, where celebrity endorsements and jaw-dropping special effects often steal the spotlight, Toyota's ad gives a formula your team can use. The spot ranked just 38 out of 59 original ads. Yet, it stands out as a testament to the power of simplicity and creative storytelling. This solid effort of an advertisement does not lean on star power or visual spectacles. Instead, it uses the humble passenger handle of their new truck as a proxy, ingeniously conveying the vehicle's power, fun, and adventurous spirit. The “Whoa whoa whoa handle!” This approach is not just clever; it's a lesson in expressing product value and personality without getting bogged down in features. And, it’s a formula your team can use too. It echoes the timeless elegance of David Ogilvy's famous Rolls-Royce ad, which proclaimed, "At 60 miles an hour the loudest noise in the Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock." Both ads share a common thread - they highlight a relatively small product feature to paint a bigger picture in the audience’s mind. Toyota's approach has a beautiful simplicity to it. It's not always the largest budget that wins, but who speaks directly to the hearts and minds of the audience. What was your favorite?#MarketingStrategy #CreativeStorytelling #BrandBuilding #Toyota #DavidOgilvy #LessonsInMarketing

WHAT’S THE “CAR DOOR THUNK” IN YOUR CATEGORY?Thump. Thwunk. Shunk. It’s an open secret that the sound the car door makes when you close it has an oddly huuuge impact on how you assess the car’s quality. This is because our brains are leaky: impressions we get in one area bleed into other areas. It’s called the halo effect. So carmakers carefully craft the sound the door makes when it shuts so it sounds solid, not tinny. All of them, from Mazda to Maserati. And “psychoacoustics” is a big field of study. Here’s the question:What subtle cues have an outsize impact in YOUR category? Are you aware of one? Two? Any at all? Have you watched people shop your category? Listened to their private mumblings? Caught them with their guard down, when they say things they “shouldn’t” (usually because it makes them sound irrational).Learn how shoppers really shop. It’s always a mix of logic and loopy.🩳 🩳 🩳 Subscribe to the Irregular News at AppliedBrandScience com/signupSign up for the Interactive Intro to the Laws & Levers at AppliedBrandScience com/products#brandscience #marketing #consumerpsychology
